Texas and Oklahoma share a common heritage of having been formed out of land taken from others through the long-held policy of Manifest Destiny. Today, Texas is the second largest State in the union (after Alaska), and is the only State to have previously been an independent country. It also includes the oldest urban area in the USA, Presidio, founded by the Spaniards to guard the ford over the Rio Grande. Because of its shape, and the natural proximity of the State of Oklahoma along its northern edge, combining the two States just made sense.     Goede dubbelzijdige wegenkaart waarbij met kleurgebruik de hoogte en natuurkundige aspecten wat duidelijker wordt weergegeven dan op andere kaarten. Nationale parken zijn goed terug te vinden op deze kaart.  ITMB expands its coverage of the USA with a detailed map of New York State and New England on a double-sided map at a very detailed scale. The one side covers most of the state and the southern portion of the New England states, along with an inset map of the greater NYC area, the other side covers from Boston and Cape cod to the northern extremes of Maine and west into Vermont, with inset maps of Boston and Boston Region. Als overzichtskaart goed te gebruiken   We're introducing a map of the US Southwest States, notably most of California and Nevada, Arizona, most of Utah, and the western third of New Mexico and Colorado. Our regional series is at 1:1M scale. This results in instances where the name of the map may differ from the common perception. In US parlance, the 'Southwest' is often thought to be Arizona and New Mexico, whereas in reality it is southern California, Nevada, and Arizona. If one includes New Mexico, the square sheet of paper has to go so far north that one ends up including Denver. This is our compromise and we'll figure out how to deal with Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Oklahoma a bit further down the line. This double-sided map covers from Reno and Sacramento in the north to Tijuana and Deming NM in the south, and from the Pacific coastline in the west to Gallop NM and Grand Junc…

ITMB is steadily increasing our coverage of this important travel destination and this month concentrates on the State of Wyoming, with a detailed travel map on one side, including small portions of adjacent states of Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, Montana, and Idaho. The state is lightly populated, with Cheyanne as its capital and main city. Interstates 80 and 90 both traverse the state, with Interstate 25 being the only north-south motorway. Yellowstone National Park occupies the northwest corner of the state and also occupies the second side of the sheet with an extremely detailed map. Yellowstone is the first area in the world to be proclaimed as a national protected area (Banff was second), and Yellowstone remains the paramount preserved wilderness environment in the world. There are several small urban areas within the park for accommodations and servicing, such as West Thumb, Canyon City, and Mammoth Hot Springs. The main…

    Een degelijke kaart met aanduidingen van o.a. nationale parken, vliegveld, benzinepompen. The northern mountain states of the USA are now the most recent portion of ITMB’s re-mapping of the USA for travel. We had to include a small portion of Washington State and Oregon, due to the shape of Idaho, but the double-sided sheet covers the three states with very little room left over. Side 1 stretches from the Alberta border to Salt Lake City, in Utah, and from west of Spokane to Helena, MT. The 2nd side covers from the Canadian border south to Cheyanne, and is essentially a map of Montana and Wyoming. As such, this is the most detailed map of this region of the USA ever published, and pretty much completes our mapping of the western half of the continental USA. We have also added a new feature – a list of the most popular sites – for those with limited time, showing such well-known features as Glacier National Park and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. The map is presented double-sided (top half/bottom half) on waterproof paper that is durable and tear-resistant. There was not as much room for inset maps as we had hoped, but good-sized urban map of Amarillo, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City are included. The map has two covers, one for each State, for easier display; both States are done at the same scale.
