We have been working on this artwork for over three years. It covers all of the Democratic Republic of Congo (the former Congo-Kinshasa, or Zaire), all of the People's Republic of the Congo (known as Congo-Brazzaville or French Congo), and the Central African Republic to the north. This is in reality a map of the vast rain forest known as the Congo River Basin, and matches our equally complicated map of the Amazon River Basin and the Mekong, Mississippi/Missouri, Nile, and Mackenzie maps that we have published previously.     Zeer bijzondere landkaart van de Okavango Delta en Linyanti. Uitermate handig zijn de GPS coördinaten van de meest belangrijke punten als campings of uitzichtpunten. De kaart is gebaseerd op een luchtfoto, waarbij alle details zijn ingetekend. The map: The map of the Okavango and Linyanti was compiled by using LANDSAT satellite images. The main reason for a tourist map of the area is to indicate the localities of the lodges as well as the wildlife management areas in which they occur. Tourists to the Okavango often visit more than one lodge and this will give them a good idea of where they have been. On the back of the map are enlargements of the different tourist areas, which shows more detail of the landscape. There are no GPS co-ordinates on the Okavango map as all the Wildlife areas consist of private concessions, which are not open to the general public. The roads in the private concessions have also not been indicated as this may mislead the self-driving public, making them think…

    Een degelijke kaart met aanduidingen van o.a. nationale parken, vliegveld, benzinepompen. We are gradually increasing the scales for our data of Great Britain and this is our latest effort. Most visitors to the UK fly into one of London's four airports and combine a visit to the city with an opportunity to travel to various destinations within striking distance of London. England is so incredibly rich in heritage and scenic attractions that it is extremely difficult to portray the country as a map of the entire entity. As a result, England lends itself nicely to be divided into a central/northern portion and a southern portion. To fit areas as diverse as Cornwall and Norwich on one sheet, one needs to have a vertical frame, with Devon/Cornwall up to the top of Wales on one side and Wiltshire to Kent up to York (admittedly, not normally considered to be part of 'southern', but vertically, that's what happens. At this scale, all of southern England and all of Wales can be shown in good d…

This is actually our second attempt at mapping the western portion of Canada; the first covered everything from northwestern Ontario to the Pacific Ocean and, while it was an excellent map, the scale that such a huge area covered necessitated severe problems. In this version, all of British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon have been mapped from fresh digital data and presented at 1:1.4T scale. This would have been impossible when we prepared the first map. The Northwest Territories portion had to be compressed in two ways; first, the scale is 1:2M; second, only the portion with roads is shown. This is still an extremely large area. One has to consider the actual size of Canada when designing a map. Most countries in Europe would fit into this area, which only covers 20% of Canada.     This title is in our series of regional titles for Africa at 1:3,400,000 scale. All of Africa is available as a continental sheet at 1:5M scale and as regional titles at 1:3.8M and 1:3.4M, based on GIS data. This is a milestone for ITMB and the realization of a dream that began in 1993. However, the work is still only in its early stages. This map covers that portion of the continent that old Africa hands always referred to as 'central', meaning the Rhodesias and Nyasaland � now known as Zambia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe.   By its shape, generous portions of the southern portions of DEM Congo, the eastern third of Angola, the northern half of Mozambique, and Botswana's Okavunga Delta are included on the one side. The second side covers South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, the rest of Botswana, and southern Namibia in great detail.     We first mapped the Amazon River Basin for a rainforest protection conference many years ago, preparing what we thought was a pretty good rendition until we arrived at a conference full of experts who were able to add so much more data that we re-did the map before publishing it. We have updated it repeatedly as more information has come to light and are pleased to release this sixth version, which does something that we have wanted to do for some time - it adds a detailed map of the northern half of Brazil/Brasil to a river map that covers portions of seven different countries. The map is printed on revolutionary stone paper (tear-resistant, waterproof, friendly to the environment, and bio-degradable as well as extremely durable), and has two different cover pictures, so it can be marketed either as a map of Brasil or of the Amazon Basin - or both! It is also the only map of the river basin in print. As the world emerges from the era of Covid, this part of the world will once again do…

Brazil, or more properly, Brasil, is a difficult country to map as a country, in that most of the developed areas are in the relatively small extreme south of the country. The vast region of the Amazon Basin is lightly populated and is not easy to access. Our solution has been to portray the south portion on one side at a detailed scale, to enable such locations as Rio and Sao Paulo a better scale to help travellers, while mapping the north at a respectable but more limited scale on the That said, one still needs both sides of the map, as Brasilia, the capital, falls on the north side other side of the sheet. I should also note that roads north of Brasilia tend to be less well-paved than those in the south. The  shape of the country also presents mapping difficulties, in that little room is available for inset map…

This is in reality a map of the vast rain forest known as the Congo River Basin, and matches our equally complicated map of the Amazon River Basin and the Mekong, Mississippi/Missouri, Nile, and Mackenzie maps that we have published previously. A word of warning: the road network in the Congo is primitive - that means largely non-existent or in such poor condition as to wreck army trucks. We show the roads, and tried to classify them by quality, but this is a 'work in progress' and I hope that this map will create sufficient feedback to improve this aspect of the map. For this edition, we have laid the ground work for developing more detailed sectional maps as the need arises.   Legend Includes: Roads by classification, Airports, Point of Interest, Hospitals, Hotels, Mines, Gas Stations, Churches, Mosques, Camping grounds, National Park, Harbour, Border Crossing, Telephone, and much more.
