    Canada is a vast country in area; inconceivably enormous in European terms. The new paved highway across Labrador is the highlight of this side of the map! The second side of the map focusses on Nova Scotia/Cape Breton and parts of Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, with a detailed inset of central Halifax. The former French fortress of Louisbourg is a must-see for anyone visiting Cape Breton, as are the many Loyalist towns created along the coast of Nova Scotia to house refugees fleeing turmoil in the American colonies during the Revolutionary War.     The first edition was published in 2000 using artwork under licence. This edition uses original ITMB artwork. Side 1 covers Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island as well as Quebec s Magdalen Islands at a scale of 1:800,000. This side also includes the Top 10 Attractions of the three provinces. The second side is devoted to the Canadian Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, with the much smaller island portion being a half-page inset at 1:150,000 scale and the larger mainland portion being at 1:1,700,000. The northernmost tip of Quebec/Labrador belongs to Nunavut. St. Pierre et Miquelon, a French overseas possession just south of Newfoundland Island, is also included, as well as the map s only urban inset, historic St. John s, one of North America s oldest cities. The map also includes a listing of 9 Top Attractions.     Halifax & Nova Scotia Travel Reference Map 1:9,000/1:535,000   Halifax was founded by the British navy in 1745 as a base to patrol the North Atlantic and to place pressure on the nearby French possessions of Acadia and Quebec. It has an excellent harbour, and is still the main base for the Canadian naval fleet. The city is also the eastern terminus of the Trans-Canada rail network and a major harbour for shipping goods to Europe. For modern travellers, it is also a major port call for cruise ships and its airport is convenient for flights from Europe. The urban area is actually two separate cities, with Halifax on the western side of the harbour and Dartmouth on the eastern side. Both are shown in excellent detail on this map. The downtown area of Halifax is the most historic part of the city, with the citadel dominating the landscape (well worth a visit!). The second side is a good map of Nova Scotia and most of Prince Edward Island. It isn’t as detailed as our double-sided map of the…

    Following the so-called Arab spring of a few years ago, northern Africa experienced much turbulence. Egypt experienced the overthrow of the government, the installation of a radical religious-oriented replacement, and the installation of military governance. Tourism plummeted. Most map publishers discontinued their maps of the country. Five years later, Egypt has stabilized and tourism is growing. We feel that the time is right to re-introduce our ITMB map of Egypt. This version focuses on the portions of the country that have been re-opened for tourism, which means from the Mediterranean coastline south to the Aswan Dam. The portion further south remains closed for the moment, as is the border crossing with Sudan. We have also been forced to leave off the Great Sand Sea and the Western Desert portions for the same reason of unrest, as the border areas with Libya remain very unstable. However, we have provided a large inset map of Egypt, covering everything, in the area of desert. We h…

    Een degelijke kaart met aanduidingen van o.a. nationale parken, vliegveld, benzinepomp, dirt-roads van de Oosttkust van de USA van Philadelphia tot Florida  . Als overzichtskaart goed te gebruiken. We call the map the Atlantic States guardedly for obvious reasons. First, the northeastern Atlantic States are missing and second, Florida's Caribbean coastline is included. Also, to cover an area so long, we had to go further inland than 'just' the coast, so all of Pennsylvania and West Virginia are included. The area of coverage of side A is Philadelphia/Pittsburg south to Augusta and Charleston. Side B continues south to the southernmost portion of Florida and west to Panama City. Inset maps of Orlando and Miami are included on this side as well. Both road and rail connections are shown, and distances between communities shown.
